Minimum Qualifications:

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

Undergraduate or technical degree with at least 4 years experience in a similar facilities position.

Position Summary:

This part time position will coordinate maintenance & repair services for all facilities at the at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. Job duties including building maintenance review, coordination of scheduled maintenance repairs, moving equipment and materials.
This is a part time position that will have a flexible schedule that aligns meeting appointments with internal and external maintenance teams. Some after-hours scheduling will be involved.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:

· Experience with building maintenance and repairs.· Basic knowledge of UGA building operations and support system.· Detail oriented.· Skills in Microsoft systems including teams, excel, and word.· Knowledge in small machine maintenance repairs is helpful.· Prior experience in a ticket management system is helpful.

Will lift 50+ pounds. Driving as needed to perform job duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Facilities Maintenance
Responsible for coordinating and completing repairs to the facilities at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. The position will be tasked with determining if repairs can be handled internally or if external UGA or contractor support is necessary. All repairs will be tracked in the Botanical Garden ticketing system so impacted employees are constantly aware of the status of repair requests.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Staff Support and Property Control
Responsible for assisting the garden staff in managing the physical property assigned to the garden. The position will track and coordinate requests for removal, maintenance and repair, or placement of any physical property located on the garden property. Physical Property consists of any non-computer related equipment, furniture, and vehicles.The position will be assigned the duties of the unit AICO (Assistant Inventory Control Officer) and will conduct the annual physical inventory count each October.

This position will develop projections and plans to help anticipate and create an annual facilities maintenance budget request. The position will also provide input on new construction or addition needs to ensure that any changes to garden facilities incorporates anticipated needs.

Supports Botanical Garden sponsored events by ensuring that our facilities and materials associated with those facilities and used for events is in good condition and ready to be used for the assigned event.Occasionally responsible for assisting in setting up for Garden Sponsored events, including setup and teardown.
