Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a highly skilled and motivated Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) (Info. Systems & Cyber Security, Associate) to join our cybersecurity team. The Sr. ISSO will apply systems RMF principles and knowledge of Information Technology (IT) systems to investigate, analyze, plan, implement, assess, and validate Cybersecurity of and acquisition for Information Technology (IT) systems, Cross Domain Solutions (CDS), and Multi-Level Security (MLS) systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with DoD/US Navy RMF methodologies, cybersecurity supply-chain risk management and industry standard cybersecurity practices and principles and experience in CDS and MLS solutions. This position may be eligible for some remote work depending on contract/client and hiring manager approval.

Responsibilities

  • Support DoD IT Systems cybersecurity compliance and validation within the NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Oversight of System Policy:
    • Ensures documents are accurate and applicable.
    • Collaborates with ISSM and RMF Package stakeholders to obtain signatures/approvals.
    • Maintains and updates system policy document in compliance with NIST/DoD/Agency standards.
    • Works with technical writers/stakeholders to complete and update policy.
  • Cybersecurity Supply Chain Risk Management:
    • Collaborate with ISSE, Systems Engineers, and ISSM on product/vendor selection process.
    • Perform Evaluation and Risk management activities on selected technologies/solutions.
    • Develop and produce cybersecurity artifacts for procurement approval activities.
  • Work with Government ISSE to:
    • Develop technical solutions for upgrades of system architectures
    • Competently review ISSE created package POAMs for completeness
    • Ensure Plan of Action & Milestone (POA&M) reports are maintained and that security vulnerabilities are tracked and remediated
    • Maintain communication and comprehension of work prioritization
  • Communicate with ISO office on behalf of the program and its subsystems
  • Meet with project stakeholders to clearly communicate task and ATO need dates
  • Read and adhere to tasks assigned by respective Cybersecurity/Program leads
  • Inform ISSM about ongoing viability of estimated dates of package completion.
  • Support CDS/MLS-specific tasks such as interfacing with Cross Domain Support Element (CDSE) personnel and supporting Site Based Security Assessment (SBSA) activities.

Travel

Total travel is expected to be at least 25 - 50% to CONUS sites.

Required Qualifications

  • DoD 8570.01 Level 2 Certification (e.g., Security+), or higher.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in related IT and cybersecurity areas.
  • Minimum of (3) years of direct experience with RMF package support.
  • Knowledge of system engineering and system architecture principles
  • Experience with DOD principles rules and processes of the RMF process.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and provide all manner of cybersecurity support to end-users.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office apps (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and work in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Navy RMF Accreditation processes.
  • Experience with National Security Agency (NSA) Raise The Bar (RTB) policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Experience in cyber supply chain-risk management processes.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited college. Associate's Degree in a related technical discipline from an accredited college plus four (4) years of additional work experience related to the position may be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.

Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $95,000 - $140,000 per year.
