About this job

SUMMARY: The Truck Jockey/Fueler is responsible for backing tractors trailers into loading dock. They are also responsible for unhooking and hooking trailers from tractors, fueling equipment, and recording internal temperature of trailers.


Drive trucks as necessary. Hook up and unhook trailers and tractors safely and efficiently.
Operating all equipment within the tractor and trailer including but not limited to, lighting, temperature controls, tandems, etc.
Recording all necessary documentation pertaining to logging of temperatures, sanitation, and assignments.
Adhere to Policies and Procedures as determined by Upper Lakes Foods, LLC. Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Company, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Poses no direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself, of others, or to property. Defined as a significant risk of substantial harm that cannot be eliminated or reduced to an acceptable level by reasonable accommodation.
Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.



High School Diploma or Equivalent


One to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of and education and experience.


Ability to operate basic office equipment, i.e. copy machine, fax machine and scanner
Great organizational and multi-tasking skills, along with the ability to think critically and solve problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Certification, Licenses, Registrations:

Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), and a valid DOT Medical Card


Knowledge and proficiency of the following systems: Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook, as well as the Internet


May be subject to repeated bending and lifting (30-50 pounds on a regular basis) as well as squatting. This position requires the ability to sit long hours, work nights and weekends.

The Truck Jockey must write, speak, and understand English. Comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one or group situations.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, integers, fractions and decimals.
Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
