Registered Nurse - PreOp Rockville, MD MUST: Experienced Registered Nurse - PreOp 1+ years of experience as Registered Nurse 1+ years of preoperative and postoperative experience 1+ years of endoscopy experience Good organization skills, with attention to details Displays computer literacy Possess excellent oral, written, listening and communication skills Must be able to work effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Maryland Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing Bachelors in Nursing preferred Current CPR certifications BLS, ACLS preferred DUTIES: Demonstrate competency in procedural sedation, monitoring, and recovery for patients undergoing procedures. Demonstrate competency in airway management and emergency medications. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the delivery of patient care in the center. Assess and evaluate patient needs to provide supportive care before, during and after procedure. Incorporates patient concerns and special needs into daily schedule as coordinated with physicians. Communicates patient status to the physician. Provides individual and family teaching regarding pre-procedural protocol and discharge teaching. Troubleshoots problems with patients, families, physicians and staff. Displays IV competency. Functions within the legal limits of nursing practice. Adheres to established routines. Maintains standards needed to provide a safe, clean and orderly environment. Maintains accurate and complete endoscopy records documenting all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses. Assists in maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies and medication. Inventories all emergency equipment and medications monthly. Complies with safety, infection control, nursing and personnel policies and procedures.
