As a Semi Truck and Trailer Mechanic at Colonial Transportation Services, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on semi trucks and trailers, making certain they meet the highest standards of safety and performance. JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES

1. Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and complex repairs on semi trucks and trailers to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
2. Diagnosis: Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently.
3. Safety Compliance: Ensure that all vehicles meet federal and state safety regulations and standards, emphasizing the importance of safe transportation of hazardous materials in fuel tanker trailers.
4. Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repairs, including parts used and labor hours, to support compliance and future reference through repair orders.
5. Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of mechanics and technicians to achieve collective goals and share knowledge and expertise.
6. Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and evolving best practices in truck and trailer maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification or formal training in diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a semi truck and trailer mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engines and fuel systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and safety-consciousness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) preferred but not required.
