General Summary

This position is responsible for assisting the Manager, Centralized Delivery with the efficient, profitable, and safe operation of the Centralized Delivery Center. Services include but are not limited to, Grill Assembly and Delivery, Online Order Fulfillment, and Store to Store product transfers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Oversee and help grow Westlake Ace Hardware’s ongoing Centralized Delivery Center initiatives.
  • Act as a key liaison between store teams, Store Support Center, vendors, and Centralized Delivery Center associates.
  • Successfully supervise, coach, and develop associates to consistently go above & beyond to meet Westlake’s Helpful standards on delivering exceptional customer service.

Financials

  • Assist with the budget process and development of the annual budget.
  • Assist in creating and executing strategies to ensure that monthly and annual financial objectives are met.
  • Assist in managing payroll and other monthly controllable expenses.

Operations

  • Ensure a positive, professional, and safe work environment for all associates.
  • Assist in supervising the “general operations” of the Centralized Delivery Center.
  • Ability to create and route daily deliveries and process store transfers with proper logistical planning.
  • Possess a high degree of organizational skills in maintaining records, planning delivery routes, and scheduling of associates.
  • Ensure compliance of company and OSHA workplace safety standards.
  • Possess clear understanding of product ordering, receiving, special sourcing, inventory management, maintaining minimum presentations, filling, and delivering customer orders.       
  • Ensure compliance with all practices, policies, and procedures necessary to manage inventory shrink. Monitor shrink numbers and take corrective actions.
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels to prevent out of stocks.
  • Ensure that all programs & promotions are properly executed.
  • Proactively seek solutions to operational areas of concern such as service to customers, on-time safe delivery of product, Central Delivery Center conditions, etc.
  • Manage and direct preventative maintenance and repairs in order to maximize and protect all physical assets (i.e., delivery vehicles, forklifts, etc.).
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of the marketplace, competitors, and trends.

Hiring and Training of Associates

  • Ensure effective training and development of associates.
  • Assist with the hiring, scheduling, reviewing, rewarding, and coaching of associates.
  • Actively recruit and promote the advancement of associates.
  • Actively recruit seasonal associates to meet the demands of the Centralized Delivery Center.

Leadership

  • Lead by example; be approachable by all associates and customers.
  • Ensure a positive, professional, and safe work environment for all associates.

Minimum Skills, Requirements and Qualifications

  • High School or GED equivalent.
  • Three to five years related management or previous retail management experience preferred.
  • Possess strong knowledge of Westlake Ace Hardware systems (i.e., ARMA, Mi9, Acenet, Workday, etc.)
  • Possess strong knowledge of Westlake Ace Hardware locations within area.
  • Ability to maintain proper certifications to safely drive company vehicles and operate a forklift.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and Microsoft suite of programs.
  • Standing, walking, lifting (up to 50lbs) and climbing.

Compensation Details

$17.00 - $19.00 / hour
