Job Summary:

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop preventive measures.
  • Provide safety training and education programs to employees on topics such as first aid, CPR, and emergency response.
  • Develop and maintain safety records, reports, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with management to develop and implement a comprehensive workers' compensation program.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of an effective occupational health program.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to safety.


Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing safety-related role.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and workers' compensation laws.
- Experience in conducting safety inspections, investigations, and audits.
- Proficient in report writing and documentation skills. Experience with Microsoft Suite.
- Certification in First Aid, CPR, and other relevant safety training programs.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively train employees on safety procedures.
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Knowledge of EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) principles and practices.
- Ability to fabricate safety equipment or modify existing equipment as needed.
