Virtual School Occupational Therapist (OT)

Location: Washington, USA
Job Type: Fulltime, School Year Contract Opportunity
Pay: $48/Hour


We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Virtual School Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our dynamic team in Washington. As a Virtual School OT, you will play a crucial role in supporting the diverse needs of students in an online learning environment. This position requires a deep understanding of occupational therapy principles and the ability to adapt therapeutic interventions to an online setting.

Responsibilities:
Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct virtual assessments to evaluate students' fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and activities of daily living.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to gather relevant information about students' needs and performance.

Individualized Intervention:

  • Develop and implement individualized virtual occupational therapy interventions to address students' specific goals and objectives.
  • Provide direct services through virtual platforms to support students in improving fine motor coordination, sensory integration, and adaptive skills.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and other professionals to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the virtual learning environment.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates on students' progress and offering recommendations for home-based activities.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress notes.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and other relevant meetings as required.

Professional Development:

  • Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in virtual occupational therapy.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to online service delivery.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current Washington state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Experience working as an occupational therapist in a school setting is preferred.
  • Proficient in utilizing virtual platforms for service delivery.
