Who We Want

The Family Office Senior Accountant will be one of the key pieces of a new family office organization. The ideal candidate is insatiably curious and able to handle new challenges while being able to provide high-quality financial reporting information on short notice.

What To Expect

  • Responsible for reviewing and processing bill pay requests across multiple entities, including working with stakeholders, executives, and family to obtain necessary approvals.
  • Responsible for daily transactional bookkeeping for a family of investment entities
  • Complete monthly financial close process, including account analysis, account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, and balancing intercompany transactions across multiple related entities.
  • Reconcile real estate rental payments with leases across a broad portfolio of agricultural and residential real estate.
  • Verify investment transaction cash flows are in compliance with organizational documents
  • Update and continually improve portfolio reporting suite
  • Perform analysis on a wide variety of special projects as directed by stakeholders and executives
  • Establish, maintain and operate an efficient electronic document system
  • Provide ongoing input to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Establish and report on operational budgets

What You Need

  • Ability to analyze information and streamline processes
  • Confidentiality, thoroughness, and a strong attention to detail
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all levels of co-workers
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required
  • 1-4 years’ experience in accounting or a related field required
  • Ability (and curiosity) to learn new software and digital processes
  • Ability to interface with tax, legal and insurance professionals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in hedge funds, private equity, and venture capital a plus
  • Experience in real estate a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Addepar a plus
  • CPA preferred
