The Role:  Planning and Cost Analysis Manager (DMV / Hybrid)

As the Planning and Cost Analysis Manager for Cava Foods, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain, ensuring effective demand planning, and integrating cost analysis into our operational strategies. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong analytical mindset and a deep understanding of both planning and financial principles in the context of food manufacturing. 


What You’ll Do

Demand Planning:

  • Develop and implement demand forecasting models to ensure accurate prediction of product demand.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather relevant data for demand planning.
  • Lead raw material procurement for the facility and coordinate with partner locations to drive ordering efficiencies.
  • Optimize inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing holding costs.

Cost Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough cost analysis on manufacturing processes, identifying areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze production costs, providing insights into cost drivers and recommending cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with procurement to evaluate and negotiate supplier agreements for cost savings.

Financial Planning and Budgeting:

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets, incorporating demand forecasts, production costs, and operational expenses.
  • Work closely with finance teams to ensure alignment between operational plans and financial objectives.
  • Track budget performance and provide regular reports to senior management.

Process Optimization:

  • Continuously evaluate and improve planning and cost analysis processes to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Implement best practices in demand planning and cost management to drive operational excellence.

 Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Serve as facility subject matter expert on Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and facilitate strong processes in accounting, procurement, production tracking and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, finance, and sales, to ensure alignment of goals and strategies.
  • Provide guidance and insights to different departments based on cost analysis and demand planning data.

 

The Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Proven experience in demand planning and cost analysis within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain management principles.
  • Proficient in using planning software and ERP systems.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to travel to Verona, VA and Laurel, MD manufacturing facilities, up to 25%
  • Ability to travel to other CAVA locations, up to 10%

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment 
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details 
  • For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds 
  • Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively 
  • Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable 
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
