Accounting Manager Job Description
Job Summary: This position is responsible for accounting operations of the Company. This includes financial reporting, accounting and financial systems maintenance and oversight. Designing, maintaining, and managing controls and budgets to mitigate risk. Enhancing the accuracy and reliability of the company’s financial and operating records/reporting. Collaboration with Management to optimize company profitability.
Responsibilities:
Management and oversight of all aspects of accounting
Manage an accounting team of up to 5 people in total
Implementation of best practices for accounting operations
Development, maintenance and enforcement of accounting policies and procedures
Prepare and maintain monthly and annual financial statements
Development and management of financial and operation budgets through collaboration with Management
Training and development of accounting and HR staff to increase operational efficiencies
Manage and maintain financial reporting for Senior and Operational management
Ensure timeliness & completeness of various accounting functions, including closings, reporting, payroll etc.
Manage and implement practices to ensure company complies with regulatory requirements
Development and oversight of filing systems for all accounting transactions
Daily cash management and cash flow planning; including depository responsibilities and cash flow optimization analyses
Ensuring receivables collections and debt payments are timely
Maintenance of chart of accounts
Periodic account reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts, sub-ledger accounts and supplementary accounting systems
Review and report significant financial variances and issues to Management
Provide financial analyses as required, capital investments, pricing decisions, contract negotiations etc.
Weekly financial reports sent to President, COO, and Management teams.
Special projects when requested
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in accounting or Finance with 5+ years of similar experience. CPA or CMA preferred but not required. Must have experience accounting for 2 or more companies in a single role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics is required.
