The hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $31.15 - 46.70 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Scotts Miracle-Gro team in Temecula, CA.

What you'll do in this role:
  • Work with injection molding equipment, flywheel, pneumatic systems, hydraulic presses or assembly equipment, robots and PLC programming
  • Troubleshoot production machinery and equipment for electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Assist in the teardown and rebuild of an injection-molding machine.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and periodic inspections on production machinery and equipment. Lubricates and cleans parts. Adjusts devices positions and controls.
  • Repair or replace defective parts. Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts. Install parts into devices. Start devices to determine their performance.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory. Orders parts. Computer work as workload dictates.
  • Keeps an accurate record of work performed.
What you'll need to be successful:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least 5 years maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of automation assembly equipment, basic computer skills, PLC, ladder logic, hydraulics, and pneumatics aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret Pneumatic and Electrical schematics and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of robots and PLC programming preferred.
  • Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to study and observe equipment for any improvements.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on as needed basis.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, stoop and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work the required shift and be able to work overtime and weekend when required. Must own necessary tools.
