Class A Truck Driver

Summary:

Responsible for transporting Non-Hazardous and potentially Hazardous (regular) Raw Materials, equipment and Finished Goods throughout the United States and Mexico. Assist in warehouse and other Company locations as needed.

Essential Duties:

· Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.

· Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting hazardous and non-hazardous materials.

· Check truck, bobtail and trailers to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

· Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations in and USA.

· Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect documentation when required.

· Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading position, and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.

· Drive trucks with capacity greater than 3 tons, including bobtails and tractor trailer combinations, to transport and deliver hazardous and regular materials at different temperature settings.

· Secure cargo for transportation, using chains, binders, tarps, bungee cords and ratchets.

· Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damages to the vehicles.

· Report damages to any cargo during loading, unloading, transport or border crossing.

· Turn in proper documentation to its designated office daily.

· Maintain a clean environment in the inside and outside of the truck.

· Conduct Pre-Trip inspection of truck and trailer.

· Monitors, controls and report temperature on refrigerated trailers.

· Responsible for following the routes and timetable established by the Company.

· Responsible for maintaining the trailer integrity throughout the entire route as per C-TPAT.

· Transport loads to local suppliers/vendors as requested by the Company.

· Daily checks of transport units for their properly function.

· Support to take the trucks/trailers for maintenance as required by the company.

· Regular, reliable and predictable attendance.

· May perform other job related duties.

· May be assigned to any Scantibodies location for any period of time.

· May be required to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. This may include duties in another department or outside your normal scope of work.

Job Specifications:

High School Diploma

Experience of 5 years

Current federal driver’s license “A” and “E” and state driver’s license

US driver’s license

HAZMAT endorsement preferred but not necessary

Meet the SCT regulations as well as DOT's

Basic English (Written and Spoken)

Availability

Working Conditions; Physical & Mental Demands:

Meet medical regulations requested by SCT as well as DOT.

This job is performed outdoors.

Environmental conditions: Dirt, Heat, Odors, Vibration, Poor Light, Dust, Cold, Fumes, Wetness/Humidity.

Supervision of Others:

Truck Driver has no direct supervision responsibilities.

Monetary Responsibilities:

In longer trips, resources will be assigned to pay for lodging, toll roads and other expenses, all of which should be reported and supported by receipts and/or invoices.
