Job Summary:

Implements quality control and safety plans to ensure compliance with contract specifications and applicable regulations, and inspects all phases of operation for conformity to established quality, health and safety, and other operational standards by performing on-going work for compliance with contractual provisions.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensures all services listed on the performance requirement summary are performed in a satisfactory manner
  • Specifies areas to be inspected (scheduled and unscheduled) and how often inspections will be accomplished
  • Communicates deficiencies to proper personnel
  • Maintains Quality Control files and documents results of all inspections
  • Conducts thorough reviews of quality requirements to identify the controls, processes, skills, fixtures, tools, and test equipment necessary to assure product quality
  • Updates inspection and testing techniques, instrumentation, and manufacturing methods and processes
  • Explain and clarify deficiencies with personnel
  • Communicate and uphold standards consistently
  • Work with multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams to provide solutions to problems with parts and processes

Other Job Functions:

  • Verifying all required documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date
  • Process and monitor non-conforming parts/assemblies in appropriate area with supporting documentation
  • Monitor the routing of parts/assemblies with appropriate paperwork
  • Ensure that tools used by the shop have been approved by performing tooling inspections
Requirements:

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering (aerospace, computer, electrical, etc.), technical (IT, Physics, Mathematics, etc.), or business (accounting, finance, etc.) discipline
  • Three years of experience in the job functions listed above, with all three years of experience directly related to DoD
  • An Associate’s degree and four additional years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree, or six years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, see, hear, and feel. Occasionally will need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Moderate environment temperature and noise level, Must be able to interpret data, information, and documents. Can learn and apply new information and/or skills.
