Job Description:

ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our team for the 2024-25 school year in Heathsville, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a supportive and effective learning environment for students with special needs, working closely with school staff, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
  • Adapt and deliver instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure inclusive and effective educational practices.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and strategies for support.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and other required documentation.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with a range of disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
