Position Overview

Provide lighting technical assistance to sales team to generate high level product specifications and quotations. The Lighting Applications Specialist interprets lighting audits and designs lighting layouts and control systems that meet budgetary and lighting requirements for a wide range of applications.

Essential Job Functions

  • Work with customers and sales team to understand project requirements and provide the appropriate technical and application support
  • Offer technical assistance and application guidance to the sales team from project pre-design and specification through installation including wiring diagrams, photometric layouts and controls layouts
  • Manage record keeping and project documentation for all work performed in accordance with company systems and organization
  • Work with customer care team to assist in the preparation and delivery of detailed proposal / quotation packages
  • Provide project design assistance through photometric studies, luminaire, and controls product recommendations utilizing your expert opinion for specifying Halco products
  • Represent Halco company vision and values in supporting quality lighting applications and successful projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Two years of application experience with wiring of luminaires and controls a must
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, business or engineering preferred
  • Strong computer skills which includes working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS office and ERP systems
  • AGI32 experience highly preferred
  • Advanced organization and time management skills
  • Possess strong problem identification, structuring, and solving skills
  • Communicate effectively, either written or oral, at all organizational levels
  • Ability to set and manage dynamic priorities according to business needs
  • Self-starter, able to work with little direct supervision
  • Must be able to travel at minimum 25% - domestic and some internationally
