We’ve all seen the scary flooding on the news that was caused by Hurricane Matthew. And I’m sure if you have family living in one of the areas impacted by the storm you were constantly calling to make sure they were okay and asking for updates.
Well for one family in Nebraska, the calls from Grandma living in Florida stopped coming. Eric Olsen assumed the phone lines were no longer working but was anxious to make sure his grandma was okay.
When calls to the police department went unanswered, Eric got creative. He placed a delivery order with his grandma’s local Papa John’s and included in the instructions to call his cell phone upon delivery.
Sure enough, Lance, the pizza delivery driver, got to Grandma’s house and called Eric and Eric was able to finally get confirmation that Grandma was okay.
Lance told his local ABC station that her expression was one of the best tips he’d ever gotten, “Her expression was just priceless. It was like, ‘Wow!”
Just another example of how hourly workers can really deliver.
