Over 70 percent of America’s workforce is paid by the hour, a statistic that a lot of people are not aware of. At Snagajob, we know just how hard it can be working these jobs and we’ve made it a mission of ours to recognize hourly workers and recognize those who go above and beyond to truly show how much they appreciate and love their job.
This year we launched the Snagajob Salutes You contest, where we asked customers and employers from around the country to nominate the hardest working and most deserving hourly-paid employees they think deserve a little extra recognition.
We received nominations from all types of industries and areas and selected three employees who really seemed to enjoy their work, and stood out to customers and employers as someone who should be rewarded for their attitude, work ethic and achievements. Snagajob then went to surprise the winners with $1,000 during a shift at work!
Hope E. – Chick-fil-A, Mount. Airy, N.C.
Hope was nominated by a customer for taking the time to get to know her customers and making them feel like they are more than just a person coming in for food.
“Hope is an amazing person who takes the time out of her day to make you feel that she knows you and cares for you on a personal level, even when you are just another customer coming through. I would love to have her surprised at her work. I want for her to feel the sense of joy and excitement of having someone show that they care about you!”
Daryle D. – Hardee’s, Pensacola, Fla.
Daryle was nominated by his district manager for being a mentor to other crew members and really getting to know the customers… all while working in the back as a cook!
“He takes pride in what he does and enjoys serving all guests, whether they are the regulars he knows by name or the ones that try us for the first time. How many cooks can say they know our guest names and they know theirs? They come in asking for him and then tell him how great their meal was.”
Logan C. – Joey’s Hot Dogs, Glen Allen, Va.
Logan was nominated by the owner for his positive attitude and always doing what it takes to get the job done.
“As an employer I can only hope that Logan‘s positive attitude will be contagious throughout the team. He gets along with everyone and is the glue that holds the team together. This great attitude shows a great level of commitment to our team values.”
