    EveryMind is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead and cultivate our fundraising, communications, marketing and earned income efforts. Reporting to and in partnership with the CEO, the Chief Development Officer (CDO) will be an integral part of the organization's senior leadership team. Works closely with the CEO, Development Committee of the Board, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Program Officer and program management staff to assess and lead fundraising, communications and marketing efforts to support the organization's strategic goals, priorities and operating needs. This position requires someone who will balance strategic thinking and planning for the department with direct management and/or  implementation of fund development and communications activities.

    The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial in nature, possess an exceptionally high level of personal responsibility and be equally comfortable creating and executing strategies. The CDO must be goal oriented, a strong project manager, detail oriented and possess excellent relationship building skills and instincts. Responsible for supervising 2.5 full-time employees; preparing and managing department budget; strategy and implementation of all communications and marketing efforts; and solicitation and management of all fundraising activities for a growing $7.2 million organization. 


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • In conjunction with CEO and Board members, develops and implements a strategic fundraising, communications and marketing plan
    • Responsible for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of all fundraising efforts including individual giving, foundation/corporate giving, government grants and events
    • Identifies, cultivates and solicits donors and prospects; organization's fundraising strategy is focused on increasing corporate and individual giving (including major gifts)
    • Oversees and implements communication efforts (internal and external) including print, web, social media and media relations
    • Promotes and markets programs and earned income efforts by demonstrating impact of services
    • Develops and manages donor stewardship and recognition efforts
    • Contributes perspective to discussions related to strategic decisions impacting the organization 
    • Staffs a Board level development committee 
    • Builds relationships and represents the organization in the community at various events



    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree and minimum of 10 years' increasingly responsible experience in fundraising and marketing and communications, including 5 - 10 years in a supervisory role, or equivalent experience is required.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and astute listening skills including the ability to express ideas with clarity, confidence and sensitivity
    • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a variety of constituents including CEO, board members, donors, media, volunteers, consultants, EveryMind staff 
    • A track record of raising funds for a multi-million dollar organization with significant experience in individual and corporate giving
    • Experience leading media relations and social media outreach
    • Knowledge and/or understanding of fund and donor development database systems 
    • Must be able to organize priorities according to changing circumstances in a positive focused and timely manner 
    • A sincere interest and commitment to the importance of mental health and well-being.
