Candidate will work with ME Body Quality Team, BIW Manufacturing Engineers, Commodity Integration Sources, Vehicles Systems Engineers for Controls, Robotics and Conveyance, Launch Execution Teams, and Plant Dimensional personnel to develop and implement automated body assembly/vehicle measurement and guidance systems. They will develop detailed zone process, conversion timing and cost estimates for new/existing programs. Ensure deliverables meet program timing. Develop SOR for sourcing measurement, tooling, and automation equipment systems. Candidate will develop dimensional measurement strategies with VDQM, Body & GA Quality Leads, and Plant Dimensional personnel. They will manage system development from concept, processing, tool design, construction, integration, installation, and dimensional validation of new body measurement technologies in assembly plant or metal center. They will develop lessons learned and continuous improvement items and incorporate into standards, procedures, processes and designs. Candidate will lead project team to manage deliverables, timing, investment, resources and problem solving and finally provide technical support for automated vision systems installed at facilities.
Schedule for this position is during system development M-F 7am-3:30pm.
During launch: heavy travel with possible 7 days per week and overtime involved (10-12 hour days).
