KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The role will manage a design development approach that focuses on workstreams using DfMA (Design for manufacturing and Assembly) principles to ensure the delivery of commercially advantageous building products that meet project, achieves ease of manufacturability, assembly, and delivery constraints. The role will manage a high-performing team and collaborate with the MX Team (Project, Product, Systems, DTaaS), partners and key stakeholders to ensure MX Studio and its people support the development of innovative and customer focused solutions. In coordination with the other regional MX Studio teams and under the direction of LL Digital Australia develop a product roadmap, prioritised according most significant value capture opportunities and pipeline application potential. Provide guidance to promote product development design for manufacturing processes to accelerate the translation into the manufactured products supply chain. Encourage all design and engineering disciplines to reduce costs across all componentized products to reduce total building costs. Cost goals must be balanced against speed of assembly, long term quality outcomes (total cost of ownership) and without compromise regarding the safety of supply chain, assemblers and end users. Oversee initial product builds (engineering units, pilot units, demos, process validation units) and coordinate a smooth transfer of new products into production). Lead design reviews and rate producibility for third-party supply chain manufacturing. Assure product and process quality by managing the design processes for testing methods testing finished product and process capabilities establishing standards confirming manufacturing processes. Approve investments and purchases utilizing engineering-economy ROI calculations. Assembles a team of designers, assembly engineering, quality assurance, supply chain logistics, and suppliers to meet the customer's specifications and needs in developing new, reliable MX Studio designed products. Continuously evolves processes, skills, team environment, and tools necessary to achieve a product leadership strategy. Develop and identify intellectual property claims for Lendlease while working with product teams Communicate technical information (data, designs, and updates) to a non-technical audience Ensure safety first Build a high performing team that is continuously collaborating with its U.S. clients, the global supply chain function, and the other MX Studio teams around the world. Continuously strive for improvement across all areas, support best practice implementation in the site and drive best in class processes to improve efficiency, quality and safety programs. Manage all budgets Coordinate long dated RD (ie any research more than 12 months in advance of current product roadmap) with LL Digital Head of RD, who will have primary responsibility for formal applied research. Lendlease is the lead partner in the Building 4.0 CRC (Cooperative Research Centre) for a 7 year 100m AUD research program and this will be the primary vehicle for advanced early-stage research. This role must provide active input into the long-term research plan, requesting specific projects that enable future component product development to be accelerated and better informed.
