Sanitation Worker

FULL-TIME

$13.35/hr

The Sanitor will be responsible for safely operating and cleaning equipment as assigned and of handling chemicals to sanitize production equipment and clean the production area, while following Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP). A Sanitor may be required to perform minor disassembly and assembly of equipment in order to facilitate the cleaning process. Essential functions include ensuring plant sanitary conditions according to established food safety and quality standards. When any deficiency in requirements occur, it is the responsibility of the Sanitor to take appropriate action and inform the appropriate personnel.

Duties and responsibilities:
 Disassembling, cleaning and sanitizing production machinery, equipment, tables, bins, pans, utensils and any other items utilized within the production process, using a variety of equipment, including high pressure water hoses.
 Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all floors, walls, ceilings, structures, drains, vents, evaporators, light fixtures, etc. within production and support areas.
 Ensuring proper care of equipment during the cleaning process, including:
o Covering control boxes and critical components to prevent water infiltration.
o Safe and non-destructive transportation and storage of equipment and components.
 Follow all safety guidelines, including:
o Chemical Safety
o Lockout/Tagout
o Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP)
o Reporting any unsafe conditions
o Immediately reporting any near miss, injury, or accident to Team Leader or Manager
 Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP) as outlined by Ajinomoto Windsor.
 Handling equipment and chemicals in accordance with company, government and safety data sheet
guidelines.

Shift start: 10:00PM
Shift length: 8 hours
Monday - Friday, some Saturdays

Qualifications

• Must pass drug screen
• Must pass background check
• Can lift 50 lbs
• Must be at least 18+ years old

Experience in sanitation procedures in a food manufacturing plant is helpful. Must be able to push, pull, reach in place, bend and use proper lifting techniques. Ability to work independently Follow Company policy, Safety Standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's). Ability to operate all sanitation equipment - including but not limited to high-pressure hoses, chemical foaming unit, titration testing equipment.
