Who you are Senior Solutions Architect, Software Development and Engineering The Sr. Solutions Architect (SSA) is a senior technical role with broad responsibility for developing a variety of compelling solutions for public sector missions. The SSA works closely with business leaders to continuously improve and advance the company's technical practices, ensuring products and services remain relevant to customer needs. This Sr. Solutions Architect position is a subject matter expert in software development and software engineering and will be a key leader in VariQ's growth activities related to coding challenges, technical demonstrations, and solution development for software-related proposals. SSA is a key leader in the company's software development services strategy. The position requires direct customer engagement as well as the development of written recommendations (white papers) and technical proposals. SSAs possess strong presentation and writing skills. Along with other senior solutions architects, SAAs are granted authority to lead corporate innovation programs, improve internal processes, and develop strategic business partnerships. The position is aligned with the Office of the Chief Technology Officer. Additional Information Location VariQ office in Rockville, MD or can be 100 Remote (USA) Salary Dependent upon experience Security Clearance Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance existing clearance (Secret, Top Secret) and DHS suitability determination desired Available Immediate Responsibilities The Ideal Candidate Will Lead and participate in coding and technical challenges for public sector customers. Support identification, qualification, and capture activities for approved business development opportunities Lead or perform the development of discriminating technical solutions for proposals, white papers, presentations, and proofs-of-concept Participate andor facilitate proposal technical solutioning sessions Work with internal and external SMEs to coordinate writing assignments and ensure the content aligns with the proposal strategy and win theme. Identify, maintain, and capitalize on strategic vendor partnerships Provide thought leadership and reach-back for government programs across the corporate portfolio Promote and improve a DevSecOps culture Work with project managers to provide inputs for staffing plans, LCATs, Position Descriptions, basis of estimates (BOE), and System level of effort (LOE). Represent the VariQ team in meetings with senior government executives andor enterprise architects and provide high-level technical input and consulting advice. Qualifications Experience leading and participating in successful coding and technical challenges for public sector customers. DHS and IS-style competition experience highly desired. 15+ years in software development, with applied experience in Agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) Sound understanding of current trends and best practices Agile development methodologies, Lean principles, user-centric design, DevSecOps, open architectures, CICD automation, cloud enablement. Desired practical application of data analytics, MLAI, business intelligence, relational and non-SQL databases. Practical experience deploying micro-service applications to Kubernetes platforms such as AKS, EKS, GKE, or OpenShift. Experience using multiple programming languages Experience with development platforms such as Appian, Salesforce, et al. 5+ years of experience within the federal market. 3+ years of experience participating in bid efforts within a government contracting environment. Ability to find clarity in ambiguity and synthesize a solution from disparate raw inputs. Ability to work independently and within a team environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
