    Job Description

    House Manager

    Join an organization committed to supporting individuals who experience developmental disabilities in their daily lives.

    Star Choices, Inc., is looking for full time house managers.

    Position will include working weekly 2 (24 hour) shifts in a group residence and then spending ~10 hours per week on Administrative oversight/responsibilities for that group residence. (Sleep & Awake time paid at same rate) The ideal candidate would have DSP and supervisory/house manager experience, ability to solve problems, and work well independently and as part of a larger team.

    Prospective house managers will be trained as CRA staff for a 3-month period prior to any administrative/managerial training.  After this 3-month period, learning and developing as a 24 hour/CRA employee, prospective house managers will either begin administrative/managerial training, or will be given an additional 3-month period to improve 24 hour/CRA employee expectations and job duties.


    Minimum Job Requirements

    21 years of age

    High school diploma/GED

    Reliable Transportation

    Valid driver’s license

    Current auto insurance

    Ability to lift, up to 50 pounds



    Starting pay

    CRA staff only (first 3 – 6 months) (48 hours weekly $9 p/h $468 p/w ~$1,965 p/m or ~$23,587p/y)

    House manager (6 month – 1 year) eligible for $.50 increase in pay and additional 8-10 hours weekly of work permissible. (assuming progress and performance are exemplary.)

    1 year anniversary eligible for additional $.50 increase ($10 p/h) (assuming progress and performance are exemplary.)




    $.30 p/m reimbursement

    Annual & sick leave accrued monthly (20 hours)

    retirement match up to 6%

    Health/Dental/Vision Insurance

    ~10 paid holidays per year

    meals included during 24 hour shifts in group residences

    paid sleep time,

    Weekly hours over 40 are paid at time + 1/2



    A few in-home Job duties:


    Support for up to 4 individuals

    Medication support






    A few Administrative Job Duties:


    Daily Documentation tracking

    On call supports (Shared with others)

    Attending meetings

    Supervision of DSP’s working in the home.

    Coverage for open shifts
