•	Merchandise and maintain lawn and garden department aisles, including fertilizers, planters and soils, seed, chemicals, live goods, lawn and garden hand and power tools.
•	This position involves dealing with the public and developing and maintaining relationships with regular customers.
•	Order and maintain live goods from early spring until fall.
•	Keep department stocked and well merchandised for optimal appearance and sales potential.
•	Assist in inventory counts, price changes and spot checks throughout the year.
•	Assist in putting weekly and drop ship orders away
•	Take lead role in seasonal transition from wide Lawn and Garden displays into Christmas/Trim-a-Tree, and then back again.
•	Job responsibilities may change based upon the needs of the business. Some basic retail functions will be required such as customer service in other departments and helping in other areas as needs arise.

•	People skills and an ability to advise and sell lawn and garden products to meet customer needs.
•	Education and training: High School degree and some college preferred, but not required. Individual must have a strong knowledge of gardening chemicals, fertilizers, seeds, and bedding plant materials.
•	Experience in retail environment.
•	Flexibility is necessary! Individual must be willing to be cross trained in other areas of the store.
•	Excellent communication skills, great organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
•	Will include both indoor and outdoor work.
•	Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
•	Ability to work outside in cool or wet conditions as needed.
•	Ability to use a ladder and climb to high areas.
