Job and Community Connections Coaches.

Vocational Support for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

The primary function of the Job and Community Connections Coach is to support the mission of Goodwill Easterseals Miami Valley by providing vocational support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Ideal candidates will use their creativity, knowledge of competitive employment environments, and local resources to help team members successfully identify, acquire, and maintain community employment.

This position will work at local volunteer sites to help individuals attain new job skills, participate in and evaluate different work experiences, and make new personal connections with people within the community. Other responsibilities include:

• Facilitating and developing individualized, purposeful, and diverse goals based upon the individual’s interests, strengths, needs, and choices according to the ISP (Individual Service Plan), IPE (Individualized Plan for Employment), and all other assessments to achieve integration in community and competitive employment.
• Managing a team of individuals with developmental disabilities at their place of employment to ensure they are successful throughout their shift.
• Modeling work appropriate behavior to improve independence and responsibility.
• Advocating for the individual while assuring their health, safety, and welfare at all times. Reporting any changes, incidents, or problems in a timely manner.
• Specific training required for the position is provided and all staff are required to maintain the training requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• This position requires transporting individuals, so candidates must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
• Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.

This position works first shift, Monday through Friday. No weekends required!

Pay starts at $13 per hour.
