TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:
(1) Evaluate existing protocols and provide suggestions for design, execution, and improvement for the Division of Clinical Research within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID)
(2) Provide guidance to staff on various clinical processes and operational issues
(3) Review safety reports and provides assessment of clinical implications of findings
(4) Develop policies and guidelines
(5) Coordinate and participate in various meetings, training, and safety-related educational programs.
(6) Provide medical review and response to study documents, protocols (including deviations and violations), consent forms, training materials, monitoring reports, clinical data, safety and efficacy summaries, audit findings, SOPs, and position papers/manuscripts
(7) Participate in protocol meetings, clinical and safety training, presentations, and review of enrollment strategies and site selection/activation
(8) Involvement in regulatory submissions, development of communications materials, strategic planning, staff training, liaison with other divisions and programs
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
(1) Medical degree from accredited university
(2) Minimum 8 years of experience in medicine or related field; experience with infectious diseases preferred
(3) Experience designing and conducting clinical trials and knowledgeable about safety and regulatory components of clinical trials; infectious disease experience highly preferred
