Title National Network Operations Center (NNOC) - Level 2 - 3rd Shift Network Engineer Location Schaumburg area Salary 80K - 90K Duration of Job Direct Hire Performs Tier II troubleshooting, escalation and incident management as well as experienced bridge facilitation and outage restoration. Ensures availability of PBX readiness based on SLA timelines. Provides Incident Management on Field Level Critical Outages and escalations to National Network Operations Center (NNOC) and platform Leadership as well as IM Critical incidents. Provides scheduling duties for assigned shift and reports to the team Manager on responsible metrics. Acts as vital link between the customer, equipment and the Tier II and III functions of the National Network Ops (NNO) and platform support teams. Acts as liaison between NNO support departments, field, and NNOC Leadership teams! Provide technical assistance and prioritization to the assigned NOC shift ensuring completion of daily tasks and workflow Perform as first level escalation for the assigned shift on service impacting outages within SLA time lines Authoritatively facilitate the Incident Management Process for NOC Severity 12 A disruptions and act as a liaison to leadership team for escalating. Provide preventive analysis and monitoring of the Operational Network using tools and processes defined in partnership with field, vendor, and other teams. Assist NNOC managers with task assignment on the assigned NNOC shift and provide feedback and support to NNOC Managers, NNO and Field support teams. Develop and document training and procedures on key network elements or processes critical to the operation of the NNOC on demand by department needs and as determined by NNOC leadership. Work with RSO, NNO, and Field partners to collect discover vital information for process creation and training. Drive and lead audit and maintenance functions related to NNOC documentation, tools, procedures via periodic review Collaborate with business partners to gather and discover critical information for training and process creation increasing efficiencies and positive impacts within the NNOC. Assist in maintenance and upkeep of NNOC tools, documentation, and procedures through periodic review! QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Electronics or related Technical field required. 6 to 8 years of experience in cellular telecommunications, data networking or operations required. Superior problem solving and analysis skills required. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communications and complex problem solving. Proficient writing skills are needed. Needs to be able to work with minimal guidance while leading others and have excellent skills in communicating. Ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast paced and ever evolving environment. Ability to work both as a good teammate and individual contributor. Functional and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and various operating systems. All systems current level of available architecture to include 4G LTE and VoLTE technology in all areas Voice Mail Systems (Movius, Alcatel Lucent Anypath, Comverse Infinity) Mobile Switching Systems (Ericsson NBSS, Alcatel-Lucent 5ESS and ECP) Network Equipment (Cisco ATM Switching, Router devices, CSUDSU Equipment, catalyst) and 1x Infrastructure Systems (MMS, SMS, EVDO and other services) Multiplexing and DACS Equipment (CAC, Tellabs, Alcatel-Lucent, Eastern Research) and Microwave Equipment (Harris, Alcatel-Lucent, Lynx) Tekelec STP and Data Networks Routing SystemsProtocols (MPLS, VoIP, SIP, Packet MSC) Flexibility to work various shifts to support a 24 X 7 X 365 operation.
