We are currently seeking Deployment Technician to support our DHS team in Sterling, VA. Job Location Sterling, VA Job Duties CyberData Technologies is looking to hire a Deployment Technician to join our team with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association in Sterling, VA. The deployment technician, under general supervision, supports the life cycle of a meteorological observing system from design to deployment. The technician assists in scientific environmental tests, develops technical material for observing systems, supports the field as a Subject Matter Expert, and deploys and trains field personnel on observing systems. Job Duties Obtain a certification in the use of the systems which will be deployed Assist in test and evaluation activities of meteorological observing systems Develop documentation related to system operation, maintenance, and training Assist with the deployment of systems to off-site locations Requires travel Install antenna and cabling system following a set of outlined procedures Conducting system acceptance tests Training meteorologists technicians on how to use the system which has been deployed Professionally communicating in occasional tense environments Hours may include weekends and overnight shifts for training purposes Provide status briefings to government clients on the progress of testing or deployment Required Skills and Experience Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance. Successful completion of 2 years of study in a technical field or three years of experience in a technical field 1-3 years of experience in the Setup, configuration, and design of scientific tests 1-2 years or experience with hardware, use of mechanical tools, and troubleshooting equipment 0-2 years utilizing data analysis tools such as MS Excel Ability to multi-task and have outstanding verbal and written communication (MS Office) Ability to work with an inter-disciplinary and diverse team of scientists and technicians Ability to obtain government financed climbing certification Ability to obtain government financed certification to operate light machinery and specialized tools (ex. boom lifts, scissor lifts, hammer drills, etc.) Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
