The Client Intelligence, Information, and Services (IIS) Hardware & Infrastructure (HW&I) engineering team is seeking an Assembly Technician to support the assembly and installation of Unmanned Arial Vehicle (UAV) ground control systems. The Assembly Technician will perform a wide variety of technical tasks in a production/test environment, including electrical/mechanical assembly, lab support, and field installations. Tasks may include cable assembly, labeling and wire prep, use of hand and pneumatic tools, and manual installation of units and cabling into equipment racks and shelters. The job requires working with sensitive equipment and intricately detailed designs. The Technical Support Specialist will use systems for reporting, tracking work, and as-built configuration. They will utilize various engineering and scientific drawings, manuals, and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks. The Senior Assembly Technician will check for work correctness. They may assist in directing work, assigning, and outlining tasks. Attention to detail is of the utmost importance. Impeccable workmanship is a necessity. The ideal candidate will have recent experience integrating rack mount hardware in shelter-based and office-based environments. Required Skills: Experience reading, interpreting and working to mechanical assembly drawings, schematics, and wire diagrams Minimum of 6 years related experience in electronic/mechanical assembly Occasional short term travel to work at customer locations Able to be flexible on work assignments and work in a team environment Able to distinguish colors when working with multi-stranded cables/harnesses Maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools, and equipment Able to lift up to 50 lbs or with assistance Existing DoD Secret Security Clearance required Availability to support short term travel in support of system installations Desired Skills: Able to complete certification in the following areas; Electrostatic Discharge Control, Foreign Object Elimination, Electrical safety, Workplace Organization, and Lean Manufacturing Principals Able to follow safe work standards including the use of Protective Personnel Equipment, i.e. safety shoes, glasses, face covering Certification to IPC-A-610 Experience working in an ISO/DOD environment Experience with drilling, grinding, countersinking, part marking, and other related mechanical processes. Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Trade school or military is a bonus, but not required.
