Position Title: Regional Sales Account Manager
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the CEO
This position is responsible for the sale of the organization's products in a specified region or major geographical area. Provides ongoing support to product distribution channel. This position has the option of being a remote employee after the initial training period.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible for securing design wins for GMSe products within the designated territory. Responsible for forecasting and achieving sales goals by selling GMSe products within the designated territory, managing the customer-side interaction to disposition GMSe backlog, and all other customer-facing activities. Interfaces with customers directly or through GMSe manufacturer's representatives (Reps).
Assists GMSe Reps with organizational skills, account strategies, territory planning, and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained. Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets, and is responsible for creating and achieving forecast, maintaining and documenting sales activity in SalesForce.com (CRM), and creating other reporting documentation as required by management.
Becomes actively involved in Reps' sales orientation and sales training programs. Primary responsibility for quoting and proposal creation, working with management setting win-capture strategy for successful proposal and/or quotation outcomes.
Aids as a resource to Reps in contract opportunities, proposals, and proformas. Assists Reps with contract negotiations, closing the sale and developing marketing plans for contract accounts in conjunction with GMSe management and Marketing department(s).
Assists with the planning of sales exhibits. Attends (and may solely exhibit) at trade shows and customer-specific events. Participates in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs. Coordinates and assists in leading Rep sales meetings, including site selection and agenda preparation(s).
Will be exceptionally well versed in GMSe products and overall product line strategies. Keeps informed of new products, services, and other general information of interest to customers, including first-hand knowledge of accounts, territory, market trends, and relevant competition. Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining Reps and assisting Reps in attaining new accounts.
Troubleshoots problems regarding products provided. Answers questions from Reps and customers, and handles complaints.
Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
At least three years of field sales experience. Demonstrated problem solving and negotiation skills. Experience with associations and hardware sales. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fundamental knowledge of technology, electronics, and relevant-to-GMSe embedded systemsor has the related experience that can transfer to GMSe situations in context.
Five plus years of sales experience with technology, hardware, or electronics-related organization. Hands-on knowledge of target customers' and market's needs and capabilities. Excellent formal presentation skills before both small and large groups. Experience managing large territories and diverse product offerings. Coaching/mentoring experience with less senior sales staff. A demonstrable capacity to keep abreast of new technology trends, relevant trade association(s) needs, and possible application to real-world projects.
Direct experience in DoD, federal, government, commercial market server, or other related embedded industry experience is highly desired. Due to the nature of our contracts handling Top Secret and DoD classified materials our client requires that the incumbent of this position be either an American Citizen or a Naturalized Citizen.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and 10 years of experience
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and 7 years of experience in hardware design and implementation
Ability to effectively write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, customers and employees in writing and verbally.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: sit, talk, hear, stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull, reach above head, lift up to 30 lbs. with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle, feel or type and utilize a telephone, copier, printer, computer, calculator, mouse, keyboard, and monitor to perform daily duties.
