General Job Summary:
Provide assistance with activities of daily living and independent activities of daily living according to each resident's negotiated service agreement. Reports adverse health reactions of residents to Director of Healthcare or other facility nurse. Records occurrences during the shift in appropriate resident charts. Answers resident calls on the emergency and non-emergency alert systems. Follows universal precautions in providing care to the residents. Provide first aid to residents within training and policy guidelines.

EDUCATION:
Provide certification as a nurse's aide if applicable. Must be able to read, write, have adequate vision and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to work co-operatively with others.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Work experience caring for the elderly preferred. Will receive additional on-the-job-training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Stands and walks moderate distances most of the working day. Must stoop and reach heights to five feet or above and lift up to fifty lbs. Assists residents in weight transfer support from sitting to standing position. Must be in good physical health, free from communicable disease, and must be flexible, able to work rapidly and able to hear, talk, read, and have adequate vision. Must have hand dexterity and ability to assist residents with their needs.

DRESS ATTIRE:
The dress code consists of professional clean scrubs. No open toe shoes, no slippers, no house shoes, no crocs. Sneaker and tennis shoes are permitted.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in clean, well lighted and ventilated apartments, laundry and medication rooms. Change in environment temperature may occur due to individual heating and cooling systems. Possible working situations may arise which require the use of personal protective equipment.
