Description This Fortune 100 companyrsquos Benefit Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Data Solution Architect with hands-on experience building out a Data Lake and Analytics Platform in AWS. Currently in the process of moving the on premises reporting data infrastructure to a cloud-based solution and have an immediate opening for a technical lead to help guide that journey. Responsibilities Providing guidance on implementing a cloud-based Data LakeAnalytics platform strategy Staying current on emerging data and cloud technologies to assist with building current and target state architectures. Providing technical leadership and best practices on how data is acquired, structured, stored, processed, delivered, and visualized in a cloud environment. Researching and recommending the appropriate technologies and services for the development of data management capabilities in data warehousing, metadata management, ETL, data streaming, and more Collaborating with business teams to understand their reporting and analytics needs and then helping design the solutions to meet them Skills 5+ years' experience working in an environment focusing on data initiativesprojects. 5+ years' experience in software development leveraging a variety of languages such as Java, Python, Scala etc. 3+ years' experience architecting solutions within a Big Data environment (preferably in the cloud) 1-2 years' experience designing, deploying andor managing services in AWS with an understanding of how to manage cloud resources economically. Excellent communication and presentation skills Preferred Qualifications Experience within the Insurance industry with a strong understanding of related data Experience with AWS Data Warehouse based services (e.g., S3, GlueCrawlers, Snowflake, Redshift, Athena, EMR) Experience with designing and implementing development frameworks in PySpark. Experience with AWS serverless solutions (e.g., LambdaFargate) Understanding of various BI Tools (e.g., Cognos, Tableau, AWS Quicksight) Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins) Experience working with containers and container orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) Experience implementing data security using database and non-database technologies This is a Contract-to-Hire position. It will be remote to start, but candidates should be local to the area.
