• Provide support Environmental Investigation Support, particularly in the area of cost recovery and civil investigation. Duties include: 
• Investigating, researching, compiling information and documentation, present findings and analysis verbally or in writing, primarily to support determinations of liability under environmental laws administered by Federal, State, or Local agencies.  
• Monitor and assist with removal, remedial, and delinquent account cost recovery issues, including collecting and reviewing cost information, preparing information request letters, demand letters, CBI agreements, delinquent accounts, liens, and other legal correspondence and managing documents.  
• Support staff attorneys in obtaining potential responsible party (PRP) information, property and corporate ownership information, including past ownership and activities, chain of title information, corporate structure information, assisting in interviewing former and/or current officials, and reviewing information request responses.  
• Provide assistance with Records Management, including litigation holds, discovery requests, and FOIAs. 

• 6 to 8 years (depending on educational level) conducting geographically dispersed investigations focused on developing evidentiary relevant information used to support legal proceedings. 
• Experience providing testimony in legal matters, including but not limited to, court proceedings  
• Current OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training (CFR 1910.120).   
• Experience working on Federal environmental contracts preferred; State Superfund-equivalent is acceptable. 
• Good working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project. 
• Strong technical writing and attention to detail. 
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal. 
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
• Ability to work successfully independently, as a member of a team, and as a leader. 
• Ability to delegate work and handle multiple projects as well as multiple delegated projects, including the ability review, and edit reports and proposals. 
• Firm understanding of the regulatory processes driving professional and technical services work.  
• Must be U.S. Citizen. 
• Must be capable of accessing Federal properties upon a background check.  

EDUCATION: 

• BA/BS in Criminal Justice or a related academic field. 
• Current professional license in discipline (e.g., private/civil investigators license). 

Travel Requirements: 

Periodic business travel is required and is expected about 35-75% of the year: overnight travel is required. Travel is anticipated to consist of field work at project sites; visits to client, and partner offices across the United States. Position involves 25-35% of outdoor fieldwork at sites across the United States. Fieldwork may require candidate to walk over uneven terrain up to 8 hours a day and carry heavy equipment. Candidates are subject to “fit for duty” baseline physical and subject to medical monitoring protocols. 

LOCATION: 

Part-time position at DAWSON offices, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, or Virginia. 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: 

Prior to final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background screening, a pre-hire drug test, and a “fit for duty” baseline physical. Positions require U.S. Citizenship.
