Kelly Government Solutions is a strategic supplier and business partner to the federal government and its key suppliers.  Through our partnership with the National Institutes of Health, Kelly Government Solutions offers administrative, IT, engineering, scientific, and healthcare professionals the opportunity to work with the leading medical research center in the world.  We are seeking an individual to work part-time (up to 24 hours/week) as a Cancer Drug Development Program Manager at the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD.
 
TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall: 
(1) Work directly with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) stakeholders of the PREVENT Cancer Preclinical Drug Development Program (PREVENT), which is a peer-reviewed agent development research program with the primary mission to support preclinical development and translation of innovative interventions and biomarkers useful for cancer prevention and interception towards clinical applications. The Program collaborates with expert investigators from academia, government and industry with current scientific focus areas being immunoprevention and chemoprevention 
(2) Provide scientific and administrative program management support and work with other PREVENT Program Support Staff and contractors to ensure the Program’s mission and operational needs are met.
(3) Establish and maintain NCI web-based PREVENT Program-related documents directory with access control. 
(4) Monitor progress of PREVENT-related projects against pre-defined tasks and milestones.
(5) Utilize scientific and program management expertise to review written reports pertaining to PREVENT Program.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have: 
(1) Master’s degree or Ph.D. in cancer biology, genetics, immunology, animal sciences, or other relevant scientific field 
(2) Minimum four (4) years of research in the fields listed above with program/project management experience.
(3) Maintain knowledge of the latest scientific advancement in translational biology of cancer and oncogenesis, novel therapeutic target discovery, and cancer prevention and interception therapeutics discovery and development.
(4) Experience in a project-team based drug discovery and development pipeline. 
(5) Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines for new agent development.
(6) Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
