Job Title:            Underwriting Manager

Location:            Rockville, MD

We are looking for an Underwriting Manager who has a strong desire to challenge oneself in a fast-paced and high energy atmosphere.  The individual in this role will oversee and manage an Underwriting Team.  This person will report to the VP over Underwriting.

The Underwriting Manager will be responsible for the following:

• Maintaining and updating Underwriting Policy and Procedure Manual
• Responds to Loan Committee Reviews as stated in Underwriting Guidelines
• Provides Loan Scenario and/or pre‐approval reviews to sales team
• Acts as Second Signature for Loan Denials
• Conducts weekly underwriting meetings with their assigned underwriting team      
• Conducts periodic training on new product guidelines or updates
• Assist post-closing with issues to clear any deficiencies
• Assist in responding to all QC letters and/or Deficiency letters from GSE’s or investors
• Checks all Agency websites on regular basis for any updates or changes in underwriting policy or guidelines
• Responsible for maintaining time sheet and ensure accuracy
• Ensure that Underwriters are current on all training
• Responsible for pulling/distributing daily reports to team
• Responsible for managing the SLA’S and address any concerns
• Hold weekly one/ones with their team

Requirements:

• College degree preferred but not needed⁠—Industry experience required
• At least 5-10 years of underwriting or managerial experience
• Must be a team player
• Self- driven with reliable dependability
