PT Medical Assistant needed for Busy Podiatry Practice in Toms River, NJ. Two evenings per week and 2 Saturday morning per month required.
Hours will vary. A typical work week will be 30 hours but must be able to work more hours if needed to cover vacations or office emergencies.
Pay is based on your experience and your interview with the doctor. Raises are based on the quality of work after the probationary period.
We are looking to hire someone who personable, passionate and energetic. Must be willing and able to work independently. We are a fast paced office, that needs someone to keep up with the constant flow of patients. The position will serve the back room and front office
Physical Requirements:. Involves standing and walking. The employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The employee might work irregular hours.
Essential Job Duties:
Prep rooms before and after patients, including checking all equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure all is in proper working order
Greet patients and escort them to the exam rooms
Understand provider to patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of their ability
Prepare patient rooms, making sure they are clean and stocked.
All exam rooms cleaned following each patient.
Obtain medical history
Take vital signs, check allergies, ask what medications the patient is on, check patients condition(s)
Relay accurate messages from patients(s) to doctors and vice versa:
Return phone messages in a timely manner; make sure everyone is called back before leaving for the day.
Accurate and careful documentation in patient charts regarding all pertinent conversations, test results relayed, and care instructions given.
Provide pre-care and post-care treatment instructions as needed
Perform inventory responsibilities and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested
Filing and scanning of medical charts
Assist with office clerical job responsibilities
Greeting patients, answer phones and help the front desk (collect copays, balances due, insurance information, etc.)
Must be punctual and maintain a good attendance record.
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and communication skills. Pleasant telephone voice and manner. Working knowledge of office business machines. Must be computer literate.Familiarity with medical and insurance terminology. Knowledge of electronic medical records is a must. Excellent organizational skills. Attention to detail and able to train. Experience in the podiatry office is a big plus
13-15 dollars per hour depending on experience.
