An email confirmation will be sent to each applicant upon receipt of completed application.

    Eligibility Criteria:

Priority will be given to individuals who have received their PhD or MD (or equivalent) after 2011, but all researchers interested in pursuing a career in clinical research are encouraged to apply. Applicants should have at least two years of research experience, but new doctorates have also participated. Beyond these eligibility criteria, we are seeking individuals who have demonstrated research potential and whose careers are likely to benefit from this training. The ideal candidate will be actively pursuing an independent research career in randomized behavioral controlled trials.

Due to the limited number of spaces in the course, applicants must be citizens or non-citizen nationals of the United States, or must have been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence (i.e., possess a currently valid Alien Registration Receipt Card I-551 or other legal verification of such status). Occasionally, a very small number of foreign applicants may be admitted if they are supported by funds from other sources. Contact Dr. Kate Stoney at or Dr. Peter Kaufmann at to discuss specifics. Women, minorities, and individuals with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

    Costs and Stipends:

Fellows will be responsible for travel to and from the Summer Institute site, room and board, and for course materials. Limited support may be available to offset a portion of these costs. Family members may accompany participants at their own expense.

(Optional Limited Availability) Applicants who wish to apply for the very limited number of scholarships to fund the majority of the costs to attend the Institute must submit an additional letter demonstrating financial need, and endorsed by their institutional leadership (Department Chair, Dean, etc). This letter must not exceed one page. Please see the "Required Attachments" section for further information.

If you require reasonable accommodations because of a disability in order to participate in this activity, please include this information with your application or inform Diane Smith, CMM( or Dr. Kate Stoney( at least 60 business days before the course begins. A request for reasonable accommodations for a disability will not influence the selection process.

An email confirmation will be sent to each applicant upon receipt of completed application.

Fellowship invitations will be sent out via email only, approximately March 23, 2018.

If you have any questions regarding the application or the electronic submission requirements for applying, please contact Diane Smith, CMM at or by phone: (817) 891-1946 (cell) or (817) 267-6698 (office).
