Kelly Services is working with a manufacturing firm in Sterling Virginia in need of a Laboratory Technician for this first shift, temp to hire opportunity.   Our client manufacturers chemicals used in DNA Synthesis.   The primary function of the lab tech is to weigh out and package the chemicals and complete all steps necessary to fill the orders.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Pull samples for the day from storage and cold storage
• Using an analytical balance, weigh out the appropriate amount of each chemical ordered
• Package and seal product in appropriate container
• Prepare labels with appropriate MSDS information
• Check labels, package product for shipping
• Enter data in a computer database

SPECIALIZED SKILLS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• BS degree in Biology, chemistry or related science
• 0-2 years industrial lab experience
• Strong attention to detail required
• Ability to do a detail oriented but also repetitive job for 8 hours a day
