            Unison Software Systems, Inc., a software product and services company seeks an experienced Systems Administrator for it's Dulles, VA office to deliver operational excellence for multiple hosting environments and provide IT end-user support across the organization. For over 25 years, Unison has been providing Acquisition and Grant Management software products to Civilian, DoD, and Intel agencies in the Federal Government, and to the Federal contractor community. In addition, Unison has a growing hosting business for its software products.

            This position will strive towards continually improving the service delivered by Unison Hosting Solutions through support of better metrics, operational controls and compliance, proactive monitoring and management, root cause elimination, and reduction of repeat outages and disruptions

            Unison Systems Administrator will:  

            •  Provide Systems Administration support for all Unison hosted and IT environments, including an on-call rotation
            •  Provide escalation support to IT Help Desk personnel
            •  Improve and document processes and procedures
            •  Work with Unison Information Security to ensure that all Unison Hosting environments are compliant with Federal requirements

            Knowledge and Responsibilities:

            The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience as a higher-tier IT Help Desk Engineer, with on-premise and cloud system deployments (SaaS) and should be knowledgeable in a wide array of technical and operations knowledge; including system administration, operating systems, infrastructure and application security, virtualization technology and networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Directory Services included). The candidate must also be able to work well with corporate end users, customers, management, hosting support teams, and application development teams.   Knowledge of Federal and DoD Information Security directives and processes is a plus

            • Support internal end users and external customers with both general and application-specific issues 
            • Act as escalation, backup and Subject Matter Expert for end user support 
            • Perform technical evaluations, analysis, troubleshooting and mitigation for all supported servers in response to support requests
            • Evaluate, perform and automate server maintenance activities
            • Plan and recommend hardware replacements as needed
            • Build servers by providing technical configuration, setup, installation services, hardware and coordination
            • Assist with establishing and maintaining appropriate server baseline
            • Coordinate planned server outages with management and user population
            • Troubleshoot, resolving and reporting on unplanned server outages
            • Ensure integrity of asset management records
            • Share knowledge with and mentor coworkers
            • Respond 24x7 to Production emergencies
            • Serve as On-Call Engineer on a rotating basis

            Experience, Skills/Abilities, and Education:

            •  Experience with operating and maintaining 24/7 mission critical data centers and Public Cloud infrastructures
            •  Must have advanced knowledge of:
              •  Microsoft Server 2012 and higher
              •  Windows 10 Pro/Enterprise
              •  Office 365 administration and end user support in a Windows 10 and Mac OSX environment
              •  Active Directory and GPO
              •  Remote Access and VPN
              •  LAN, WAN, DNS, TCP/IP
              •  Must have working knowledge of:
                •  Linux administration
                •  SAN technologies and backups (such as EMC, NetApp, Barracuda)
                •  VMWare Virtualization
                •  AWS, Azure, GCS and/or OCE administration
                •  HP and/or Dell Servers
                •  SaaS application hosting and delivery
                •  Preference given to candidates with advanced knowledge of:
                  •  NIST Federal Security Requirements and how they apply to hosted/SaaS systems
                  •  Troubleshooting and tuning Oracle and SQL Server databases
                  •  Knowledge of automation through DevOps scripting and tools
                  •  Proven experience in capacity planning and delivery
                  •  Verbal and written communication skills to present information to a diverse population (technical and non-technical).
                  •  Knowledge of Data Center environmental, security and operational best practices
                  •  Ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team.
                  •  Ability to break down complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
                  •  Eagerness to learn new technologies
                  •  Ability to provide innovative solutions to simplify, automate and otherwise improve routine issues and tasks
                  •  Availability to serve as On-Call on a rotating basis
                  •  Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or 7 years related work experience required
                  •  B.A. or B.S. in relevant field of study
                  •  5+ years of increasingly advanced systems administration, preferably in a SaaS or Hosting environment 

            Physical Requirements:

            Qualified candidates will need to have the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., be able to move/traverse throughout work facility, and communicate frequently with co-workers
