              CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

              Medical Assistant

              • Administer medications, administer immunizations, EKGs, ear washes, and other patient services under the direction and supervision of a physician.  Assist in simple office and minor surgical procedures.  Assist with the education of the patient and/or family as directed by the physician.
              • Perform venipucture under the direction of a physician or advance care practitioner. 
              • Contact patients as needed to give testing results instructions from the physician and scheduling of necessary visits. 
              • Answer telephone inquiries and triage calls.  Perform various lab functions as needed.

              REQUIREMENTS / PREFERENCES

              • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
              • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA) or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (American Red Cross).
              • Completion of one of the following:
                • Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program with a valid MA school, or
                • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or
                • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
              • 2 or more years of relevant back office, clinical experience required for those without an accredited Medical Assistant diploma or RMA or CMA designation.
                • CMA or RMA will be considered in lieu of experience.

              Referrals

              • Responsible for total coordination and processing of all patient referrals for specialty services. 
              • Communicate with the patient on a timely basis for all scheduling requirements. 
              • Coordinate pre-admission testing requirements with clinic personnel and patient. 
              • Enter all referral, hospital, outpatient, DME and other patient specialty health service authorizations into the computer system according to Company policy and procedure. 
              • Receive consultant reports, maintains documentation, and routes to the appropriate physician promptly. Monitor and follow-up of all referral reports not received.

              REQUIREMENTS / PREFERENCES

              • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent required.
              • Previous medical office experience with referral processing for HMO plans is preferred.

              Receptionist

              • Responsible for accurately and professionally handling all front desk operations including answering phones, greeting patients, scheduling of all appointments, balancing daily collections, addressing routine inquiries, and forwarding non-routine requests to appropriate personnel. 
              • Assist with the inventory and maintenance of business office supplies and the completion of business office reports. 
              • Work daily reports, incomplete encounters, No Show reports, and other designated administrative reports according to office procedures.

              REQUIREMENTS / PREFERENCES

              • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent required.
              • Previous medical office experience preferred.
