This is a global leadership role for our inbound / outbound business development teams across North America, EMEA, and the APJ regions. This leader is responsible for collaborating with marketing and sales leadership to drive prospecting and lead qualification that aligns to business strategies and priorities to increase pipeline quality and maximize bookings growth across all product lines to generate 25-30% of pipeline contribution and bookings globally.
This leader is a member of the global marketing leadership team and reports directly to the CMO.
Develops and implements comprehensive business development strategy, plan, tactics and measurement systems, and all functional operations and administration globally for business development reps across all BUs
Compensation and quota planning for the business development team focused on driving pipeline quality and driving bookings growth while decreasing customer acquisition costs
Defines and standardizes business develop lead management and qualification processes, reporting and ROI measurement. Proactively identifies and improvement/growth opportunities on an ongoing basis.
Drive daily operations management, recruiting, talent development and career progression within Quest for our inbound/outbound business development reps.
Manages, through other managers, a team of business development representatives
Provides operations management and reporting of inbound and outbound call response and lead qualification functions.
Creates ongoing training strategy and programs that increase product, business and sales skills acumen.
Owns business development tech stack, partners closely with sales ops and marketing to identify and implement sales tech that drives operational scale and decreases customer acquisition costs.
Partners with marketing to optimize the impact and return of demand generation efforts, qualifying and nurturing leads into the pipeline.
Contributes to strategic and tactical revenue planning
Responsible for coaching, performance management, and career development of staff. Participates in the recruiting process and makes hiring decisions. Manages budget.
10+ years managing and leading business development or sales teams.
5+ years in technology, SaaS and software business development or sales.
Proven experience qualifying prospects and customers; understanding of the sales cycle process.
Strong leadership skills.
Deep understanding of the sales tech and CRM systems.
Strong process and analytics acumen.
Proven experience managing and developing business development and/or sales talent.
Experience in the development of short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
Strong collaboration and relationship building skills especially with sales executives.
Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure pipeline and bookings objectives are met. Able to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations important.
