Position Title: Journeyman Telecommunications Line Installers and Repairer Job Summary: As part of a collaborative team, this position performs Design, install, maintenance, repair, and test of telecommunications backbone cabling, both inside and outside plant. Key Responsibilities: • Design, install, maintenance, repair, and test of telecommunications backbone cabling, both interior and outside plant • installation, splicing and termination of copper and fiber communications cable and coaxial cable, installation of racks/frames and cable management hardware. • Maintain an accurate database of all cables, wires, terminations, routes, and other maintenance data • Provide input to the Government and other Contractors when required to successfully integrate new capabilities and maintain reliable service. Skills & Attributes • In depth knowledge of maintenance and repair of telecommunications infrastructure • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Self directed Required Qualifications • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in design, install, maintenance, repair, and test of telecommunications backbone cabling. • US citizenship or permanent residency • Active Secret Security Clearance required • BA/BS degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience • Required to be certified to utilize the electric blowing head used to install the airblown fiber.
