As a New Business Underwriter, you will focus on prescreening and structuring all approved deals from the start, to ensure a seamless transaction and positive experience for our borrowers.

Assess the credit worthiness of prospective clients through completion of a thorough and accurate historical financial analysis (evaluate + validate trends); prepare a loan file prior to processing.
Facilitate deal through the loan approval process.
Report directly to the SVP, who will provide direct training and guidance.
Identify loan deficiencies.
Review multiple files based on requirements listed to ensure guidelines are met.
Review Conventional/FHA/VA/USDA loans.
Effectively manage a large pipeline.
Review file requirements for income types that are hourly, salary and self-employed.
Initiate and coordinate resolution of problems with appropriate parties and departments.
Anticipate the needs of others to ensure a seamless and positive experience.
Ad hoc duties, as assigned.
Extensive knowledge of FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines.
Well-developed understanding of mortgage processing, underwriting, closing procedures.
3 to 5 years of recent Conventional/FHA/USDA underwriting.
In-depth knowledge of the mortgage rules and regulations.
Understand the various Standard Operating Procedures.
DE and SAR are a plus.
Experience with Encompass360.
Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to work well independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Renovation and construction knowledge, a plus.
