The Database Administrator will serve in a vital program role, responsible for implementing, modifying and deploying software affecting mission critical networkssystems, as well as determining ways to organize and store data. bull Identify user requirements, establish databases, and test and coordinate modifications to database systems bull Ensures the performance of the system, understands the platform on which the database resides, and adds new users to the system bull Plans and coordinates security measures and has a knowledge of data integrity, backup systems and database security bull Recommend and implement process and tool improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the service area's support to the mission bull Perform server performance tuning bull Monitor database performance, and manage system data to maintain performance efficiencies bull Analyze system requirements to determine proper server installation methods and procedures bull Ensure that proposed object definitions are clear, concise, technically correct, and that they represent singular concepts bull Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications bull Support the efforts to deploy SecDevOps, Infrastructure as Code and automation efforts across the service area Required Skills o Bachelor's Degree in a related business or technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or workmilitary experience o Proven working experience as a Database Administrator for Top Secret mission critical systems and networks o Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL o Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding o Understanding of data and schema standards and concepts o Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontendbackend) and third-party tools o Familiarity with programming languages API o Strong attention to detail and outstanding problem-solving skills o Detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards o Possess an active TSSCI security clearance, with Full-Scope Polygraph OpportunityOwned GDITCareers GDITLife WeAreGDIT GDITInterns EnterpriseITReferrals externalreferral Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Travel Required None T elecommuting Options Telecommuting Not Allowed Work Location USA VA Herndon - 13857 Mclearen Road (VAS091) Additional Work Locations We are GDIT.
