Manual Machinist

Shift: 1st shift

Hours: 6a-2:30p Monday - Friday - OT is mostly voluntary on Saturdays - if OT is schedule they will work 9 hour days with half day on Saturday

Description:

- Set up and operate American Engine Lathe 24" Chuck

- Set up and operate Vertical Turret Lathe 60" Chuck

- Set up and operate Radial Arm Drill

- Follows all safety procedures and works in a safe manner

- Read and follow work order instructions

- Machine setup without supervision

- Operates machine to accurately produce parts within tolerances with little or no supervision

- Operates all lifting devices

- Inspects parts as machined

- Sharpen tools as required

- Assist with setup for other shop employees

- Perform daily maintenance of equipment

- ability to perform basic math skills - add, subtract, multiply, divide

- may need to support 2nd shift a couple weeks out of the year - does not happen all the time but want to make candidate away - 2020 was 8 - 12 weeks, 2019 - 3 weeks

- 2+ years of Manual Machining experience

- Ability to perform set ups on machines

- Blueprint reading

- Experience with Engine Lathes or Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL)

- Working with NC reads outs (numeric control read outs)
