Prevention Program Manager
The Prevention Program Manager is responsible for providing support to existing local Child Abuse Prevention Councils around the state, as well as for developing new Councils, and developing and coordinating other volunteers as needed. This position also provides training in the areas of Preventing Shaken Infant Syndrome/Abusive Head Trauma, as well as Childhood Sexual Abuse Prevention. The position assists with social media needs, as well as provides webinars for our local Councils. It will also require serving on some local and statewide committees and Task Forces. The position is also primarily responsible for responding to calls and e-mails that may be received from individuals needing resources and information. Position requires some evening and weekend work. Statewide travel is required. Experience in public speaking, social media, community organizing, and strategic planning is preferred.
The position requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in social work, communications, public affairs, or related field from accredited college and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Training and experience working with children and families, ability to communicate and engage people of various backgrounds, proficiency in office technology, and written documentation skills.
