        Job Description

        WHO WE ARE:

        Gulf Coast JFCS is comprised of over 500 dedicated people committed to improving the lives children and families of all religions and nationalities. The only prerequisite is need. Annually, GCJFCS supports more than 37,000 people throughout Florida. Our programs are designed to protect children from abuse and neglect; to help people overcome substance abuse, to manage mental health, or to gain control of debilitating behaviors; to care for and connect seniors to needed services; to provide emergency financial and food assistance to support Holocaust survivors; and to welcome and help resettle refugees from around the world.

        WHAT YOU WILL DO:

        The Clinical Supervisor will oversee the Community Navigators, providing immediate crisis intervention services, in partnership with local law enforcement, to adults, children, and families. Service intervention may be provided in situations to include, but not limited to, mental health illness, disorderly conduct, substance misuse, homelessness, panhandling, and parental assistance for juvenile needs such as counseling or school attendance/truancy. The Clinical Supervisor will provide on-site response to assist Community Navigator, whenever necessary, and provide assessment for Baker or Marchman Act. The Clinical Supervisor may also provide engagement, counseling, referral, and linkage to formal (community providers) and informal (family, friends, neighbors, school, etc.) resources to prevent ongoing client crisis and support law enforcement in efforts to reduce the number of officers deployed to non-emergency situations and reduce recidivism of individuals requiring non-emergency law enforcement support.

        It is critical that you live in or near St. Petersburg as familiarity with the city and its neighborhoods is essential!

        MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

        You must, at a minimum, have a master's degree AND hold an active and clean State of Florida License in the discipline of Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work and/ or Psychology;

        OR hold a Ph.D. or post-doctoral degree and have a licensed person as previously described, to provide clinical supervision as well as review, approve and sign the closing summary and any pertinent case requirements;

        OR holds a State of Florida Registered Intern License in the discipline of Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work and/ or Psychology and will obtain full licensure within 1 year of start date.
