Role Overview Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking a Field Technician to perform field duties for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring (OMM) of groundwater treatment systems as well as sampling of treatment systems, groundwater, and surface water at various locations for public and private clients. This position is based in our Sacramento office. Key Responsibilities Ability to make good observations and record them carefully Perform more complex collection of system operation, groundwater monitoring, and field data Perform more complex collection of treatment system, well head, and surface water samples Perform routine OMM tasks such as bag filter changeouts, back flushing, system monitoring, compliance audits, and response to alarm callouts Summarize field information and communicate findings electronically Write routine field reports with minimal supervision; contribute to writing complex reports At the direction of the project manager or senior professional, interact with clients and subcontractors Prepare more non-routine and/or complex calibrations of field and/or laboratory equipment, either in field, laboratory, or office Prepare work orders for equipment repairs and requisitions for equipment replacement Responsible for meeting assigned task deadlines Inform immediate supervisor or Project Manager about problems encountered during work assignments Observe and document routine construction operations and write daily reports Understand, apply, and oversee safety requirements in the field Assist in other non-technical projects as appropriate Assist and observe contractor work on construction projects and interact with clients and contractor or subcontractor representatives accordingly May coordinate/direct the work of other Field Technicians May assist in training personnel on use of field equipment or collection of field and/or laboratory data Skills / Qualifications Required Qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent of technical education, licensure, and certification 5 or more years of industry experience Expert knowledge and understanding of project scope and focus Ability to set up, calibrate and maintain all monitoring and test equipment in an effective and safe manner Responsible to direct others in procedural matters and in execution of the work orders Attention to detail Ability to work independently with little to no supervision Demonstrated Leadership, ability to interact with Clients, and interpersonal skills Must have 40-hour HAZWOPER Training and 8-hour refreshers up to date Physical Requirements: Ability to stoop, kneel, and lift 50 pounds Ability to drive large pick-up truck Ability to use hands to operate field equipment Close, distance, and peripheral vision; normal auditory function Must complete employment physical demonstrating ability to meet job requirements, including the ability to wear a respirator, as required Completion of annual or bi-annual employment physical, as required Will be standing and up on their feet most of the day Will require some walking over uneven terrain and hard surfaces such as roadways May require some work at night License/Certification Requirements: Valid driver's license and insurable driving record Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy Must pass Health and Safety Training and Defensive Driving Courses upon hire If you believe you have the necessary knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to succeed in this position, then we would like to hear from you.
