    Zankou Chicken is an award-winning, family-owned, fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant chain with eight locations in Southern California. At Zankou, we serve quality, natural, and uniquely delicious Mediterranean meals at an affordable price and with a “WOW” level guest experience.

    A General Manager is the face of the restaurant whose main responsibilities are to handle guest service issues, assure great food quality and, above all, ensure that all Team Members are developing to get better every day. Effective General Managers have to balance the needs of their team, their guests, and the company. A General Manager who understands transparency, collaboration, and sharing of ideas will create a culture for Team Members to please their guests. A manager says ‘go’ and a leader says ‘let’s go!

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Greets all guests in a friendly, helpful manner, and in a timely fashion
    • When in the dining area greet and assist guests, and table touch every table at least once
    • Follows up with guests to make sure needs are being met
    • Resolve any customer dissatisfaction
    • Use “every guest matters” mentality during each interaction with guests
    • Ensures product is being prepared, served, and stored to company standard; following all food safety regulations (FIFO)
    • Understands and follows all food safety requirements and work safety requirements
    • Does everything an Assistant Manager does (including cooking), when necessary
    • Directs team members to follow all cash management and cash register policies
    • Directs team members to complete tasks
    • Ensures that food and team members safety guidelines are being followed
    • Executes store operations during scheduled shifts
    • Organizes opening and closing duties as assigned
    • Identifies when processes and actions are consistent/inconsistent with restaurant expectations and standards
    • Recruitment (interviewing and hiring candidates)
    • Terminations (voluntary and involuntary)
    • Coach, train, and develop team members to meet company standards
    • Delegate and follow-up
    • Identifies when processes and actions are consistent/inconsistent with restaurant expectations and standards
    • Orders and receives deliveries
    • Ensures that the processing requirements of all food products are adhered to
    • Gives breaks as necessary, when appropriate, and according to labor law guidelines.
    • Floor Control (“aces in their places”)
    • Plans weekly schedule & schedules training sessions
    • Prepares daily administrative paperwork; which may include all aspects of cash reconciliations, daily/monthly inventories, store schedules, and weekly payrolls
    • Completes workers compensation documents
    • Hiring and Termination documents
    • Invoice processing
    • Processes mail promptly
    • Communicates with Team Members throughout the shift regarding status of orders and availability of product
    • Works well with Team Members to reach goals of restaurant

    SKILLS & EXPECTATIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

    • Food Safety/Sanitation requirements
    • Food handler certificate.
    • Friendly and positive attitude
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Can express comments/concerns in a positive manner
    • Able to communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds

    • Ability to deal with both liability issues and Workers Comp issues correctly
    • Strong understanding of labor law guidelines
    • Understands the interviewing, hiring, and termination processes
    • Reaches, bends, squats and frequently lifts and moves up to 50lbs
    • Ability to withstand repetitive motion
    • Mobility required during the entire shift
    • Stands on feet for a long period of time
